Appletree’s staff believes in fostering the spiritual side of the child by not only modeling desired behaviors but also by instructing the children in a Character Education curriculum. Each month the school integrates two values throughout the daily lessons. These values are taught through various methods such as stories, drama, writing and positive reinforcement. We teach our students that they are unique and are special creations of a loving God. We instill respect for each person and the contributions that are made to classroom learning environments.

Intergenerational Program
As part of Sunrise Senior Living we can build a distinctive relationship with the “senior generation.” The students visit the Sunrise Homes and work on various life skills, sing in the ever popular sing-a-longs, discuss history topics, build on communication skills, play games and most importantly, develop a relationship that honors our senior citizens and values the contributions they made, once again putting our Character Education curriculum into practice.
